MIC and Guttorm Andreasen present "99 Minutes", a brand new webcast with great norwegian music! Have a listen here.
DJ 99 is a complete and passionate music nutter in Oslo, Norway. Guttorm Andreasen believes firmly in a completely Multirhythmical society! DJ 99 is really thankful for the fact that he loves Music, not Genres. He tries to play this Multirhytmical Music of his in as many different settings as possible.
For 16 years, from 1992 to 2008, Guttorm Andreasen worked as a journalist, DJ, presenter and music producer with the NRK, the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation. Every day for 3 years until sept-06 he presented more than 700 editions of the completely Genre-Free 1-hour long radio show on National Radio called WASABI. This was a brilliant chance to introduce his Multirhythmism" to the radio population of Norway. As everywhere else when he plays music, the mix was that of swedish funk preceding jamaican tango blending into belorussian electro, nigerian jazz, venezuelan rock, danish cumbia, norwegian jungle, egyptian punk and chinese techno.... and everything in between! Up to 200.000 people listened to the daily eclectic mix in WASABI, but to many music lovers' dismay, the show was taken off air, probably for musical profile issues on a channel with mostly classical music in its programming. Now you can listen to all the old shows again, either live on NRK GULL every friday. Or download them all... http://www.nrk.no/gull/
DJ 99 has played everywhere from the Sónar Festival in Barcelona to a small bar on the outskirts of a village in rural Serbia. In 2007 he was chosen as one of 3 DJs to showcase at the WOMEX festival in Sevilla in Spain. In 2005, he reached the finals of The International World Beat DJ Competition in London. Back home DJ 99 has played most every major and minor festival and club around, including NuMusic, Insomnia, Oslo World Music Festival and Nattjazz. He has organized, promoted and DJ'ed at the award-winning monthly Soria Moria Dancing (several Club of the Year Awards), Klubb Svoger (live Jazz and rhytmical tunes), Quart-På-Festivalen (rock and poetry), Club Kamel and BAR 99.
Guttorm Andreasen also composes and performs electronic music under the moniker KAOSS 99. He calls it Ambient Noisetronica. Listen at www.myspace.com/kaoss99 and check out gigs here.
